Biogas energy solutions

SDAR

A digestion route for POME and empty fruit bunches.

POME + empty fruit bunches

A closer look at the process.

SDAR combines palm oil mill effluent (POME) and empty fruit bunches (EFB) in a digestion route for palm oil processing residues. The system is designed for feedstocks with a higher solids concentration.

Agitation, biogas production and continuous discharge are central to the equipment concept. Feed preparation and the operating arrangement depend on the properties of the POME and EFB available at the site.

Design data

Key figures

  • 10–20% solids in digestion
  • >30% more biogas
  • CH₄ rising to >60% over time
  • POME + EFB in one process

Source: BIOZOOM design data. Actual performance depends on feedstock and operating conditions.

POME + EFB

A combined feedstock route for palm oil processing residues.

Agitation

Mixing for the higher-solids digestion application.

Continuous discharge

An operating arrangement suited to continuous material handling.

A useful starting point

Bring your project into focus.

  1. POME volume and the available quantity of EFB.
  2. Feedstock solids content and any pretreatment already in place.
  3. Site layout, material handling and intended gas use.
